It’s 2020, and a whole new generation of direct sales and small business owners are going high tech and turning to Facebook to build their businesses online.
We have seen how Facebook has evolved in just the last couple of years. They’ve made it easier for small businesses to get ahead with their content by creating online communities. Today we are talking about one of the most beneficial (and yet one of the most terrifying) things you can do for the most successful Facebook Parties!
On the Facebook platform in 2019, an average of over 500 million people created over 4 billion video views every day.
Those numbers will only grow over time and if you haven’t done this yet, it’s never too soon to start posting videos.
Here’s something else you should know. Native videos are ones created or uploaded directly through Facebook as opposed to sharing a link from another source such as YouTube. These types of videos are getting the most engagement! In fact, almost 50% more engagement than other types of posts on Facebook.
But why is creating your own video content so important for your online business?
That’s an excellent question that we took to one of our favorite mentors and entrepreneur influencers on the web, Kelly Paull.
Here’s what she has to say:
“Make no mistake, video is an absolute MUST for marketing in 2020. Personalized video is shaping the future of marketing, sales and customer service. It allows people to get to know, like and trust you quickly. The great news is they don’t have to be long, overly produced and edited masterpieces!
According to HubSpot Research, consumers and customers actually prefer lower quality, “authentic” video over high-quality video that seems artificial and inauthentic.”
Here are two huge reasons why you want to include your own videos in your Facebook Parties:
Improve Party Engagement
Here are some findings by social media analytics company Newswhip we found in their 2019 Facebook report:
“ Native video drives the highest average engagement and the highest average shares among all the types of post in 2019 so far.
One interesting thing to note here is that, although it is not a very prevalent form of content, Live Video does drive a much higher number of comments than any other content type. Live videos drove an average of 28,000 comments, as compared to 10,000 for native video, which was the next highest number.”
Why is this info important to know?
Because if you can’t meet with a new person face-to-face to share about your best products, then creating a video is the next best thing to stimulate their senses and make them feel special.
Plus, you can do all this from the comfort of your own home, on your own time, with a video.
If you don’t use video you have to type lots of words in a post to explain all the reasons to choose your product, or share lots of photos to show all the possibilities, or share links that will take them away from the Party group.
There’s definitely a strategy in using different types of posts, for sure!
But work smarter, not harder, when it comes to creating your Party content.
For example, in a video, you can:
- Attract them with some eye-candy by showing off your favorite products in all the colors and varieties.
- Hold their attention with action by showing them HOW to use your products in a new way
- Connect with them in a relatable way, such as having them comment with an answer to a question, like: “What’s your favorite go-to meal for the family?”
- Build relationships by making them feel valued to your business. Think how you would show appreciation for being their consultant.
When Facebook sees that your guests are engaging with your videos (commenting, liking, reacting, etc), they see that you have valuable content and your post reach will boost!
Facebook also favors Live videos. So if you go Live in your group Parties at a certain time, guests will get notified and are more likely to jump on and interact with you as you go.
This Live video will also stay in the group and will be available for guests to re-watch later.
Build Your Unique Brand and Sell More Product
When you create videos for your Online Parties, you have the opportunity to let your brand shine and to showcase what makes being your customer the best choice they could make.
“If [guests] interact with you in some way, if they feel a connection with you, if they feel like their needs are gonna be met in some way, they’re more likely to buy.”
– Corey Burge, Founder of PostMyParty
What better way to establish these relationships with new people in your Parties, then with your own videos featuring your unique personality and take on amazing products?!
This is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate your favorite products and share tips on how to use them and to show your own real-life results.
Build trust with your new customers by pointing out areas that are relevant to their needs.
Are they mostly moms, pet lovers, or young professionals?
Get to know your guests and you’ll know how to present your products better.
Gain more visibility when you get away from posting overshared/corporate videos that might already be flagged by Facebook or pushed down in the feeds for having outside links.
“[Facebook] tracks specific content… how often is that same content being shared and is it getting good interaction or not. They track the performance of all content on Facebook….”
– Corey Burge
You might see that a corporate video link did not get a good response from your guests in the last Party.
So try creating a new video with your own take based on that other video’s topic. Most likely your audience will respond better to your positive energy, familiar face and honest opinion.
Instead of tracking a corporate video link with millions of shares/views but very low interactions, Facebook will see that your video with fewer shares/views is actually getting better interaction and will boost your content for more guests to see on their feeds.
With the option to share a pre-recorded video, or to go Live, we asked Kelly if she had a preference for Online Parties?
“I like a mixture of both. What I teach is how to grow your business without more “busyness”. Having pre-recorded videos allows you to always have a duplicatable system for running the party. Let’s say you are down with the flu, with PostMyParty and your pre-recorded videos and posts ready to go, the party can go off without a hitch.”
So whether you choose to share pre-recorded native videos or to go Live, it’s safe to say that with the growing popularity of videos, creating your own is the way to go to build your online business and have more successful Facebook Parties!
